Six Steps to Adjust the Governor on Golf Carts
A golf cart's governor keeps the vehicle from going too fast. Golf carts can become damaged, and have a higher propensity to flip over, without a factory functioning governor. On the other hand, you can't cruise around with a golf cart whose governor has been left to its initial setting. You should be careful before turning a golf cart into a higher speed vehicle, but it can be a lot of fun if you know how to handle it.
Locate the plastic covering behind the seat.
Unscrew and remove the plastic covering.
Locate the governor. The governor is a piece of metal in the shape of a "T." It should pivot from side to side.Locate the silver part of the "T." It will be the larger section as well.
Connect this silver part of the "T" to the metal rod immediately behind it. Make sure it is secure enough so the silver part of the "T" will not be able to pivot forward anymore.
